چکیده
This study was designed to investigate whether hydrogen administration can produce neuroprotective effects and its related molecular mechanism after brain ischemia reperfusion in rats. 36 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into sham group, ischemia reperfusion group and ischemia reperfusion hydrogen therapy group. Brain ischemia reperfusion injury was induced by a 2-hour left middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) using an intraluminal filament, followed by 24 hours of reperfusion. Subsequently, histological alternations, levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and reactive oxygen species (ROS), apoptosis, inflammatory cytokines and the protein expression in brain were examined. The present results showed that the treatment of hydrogen could significantly attenuate brain tissue apoptosis, decreased the levels of ROS and MDA, activation the Nrf-2/HO-1 pathway in brain tissue after ischemia reperfusion injury. The results suggested that the neuroprotective effects of hydrogen maybe mediated via activation of Nrf-2/HO-1 pathway.

Maresin 1 Ameliorates Lung Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury by Suppressing Oxidative Stress via Activation of the Nrf-2-Mediated HO-1 Signaling Pathway
Lung ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury occurs in various clinical conditions and heavily damaged lung function. Oxidative stress reaction and antioxidant enzymes play a pivotal role in the etiopathogenesis of lung I/R injury. In the current study, we investigated the impact of Maresin 1 on lung I/R injury and explored the possible mechanism involved in this process. MaR 1 ameliorated I/R-induce...

Objective(s): Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) attenuates ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) in different organs. However, its mechanism of action in renal IRI remains unclear. The present study investigated the hypothesis that H2S attenuates renal IRI via the induction of heat shock proteins (HSPs).Materials and Methods: Adult Wistar rats were subjected to unilateral renal ischemia for 45 min followed by...

متن کاملProtective Effects of Nucleobinding-2 After Cerebral Ischemia Via Modulating Bcl-2/Bax Ratio and Reducing Glial Fibrillary Acid Protein Expression
Introduction: Nucleobinding-2 (NUCB2) or nesfatin-1, a newly identified anorexigenic peptide, has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties. Brain ischemia-reperfusion induces irreversible damages, especially in the hippocampus area. However, the therapeutic effects of NUCB2 have not been well investigated in cerebral ischemia. This study was designed for the first time to i...
متن کاملP34: Berberin Exerts Neuroprotective Effects by Modulating Pro and Anti-Inflammatory Cytokines in Rat Model of MCAO
Many complicated mechanisms are involved in brain ischemia and the role of inflammatory factors in the progression of post-ischemic injury is inevitable. In present study, anti-inflammatory effect of berberine has been investigated in reperfusion injury after acute ischemic stroke. Male Wistar rats weighing 250-270 gr were randomly divided into four cohorts: healthy rats (control, n=20), sham-o...
